Prayer Focus
As Jesus was teaching in the temple area he said, “How do the scribes claim that the Christ is the son of David? David himself, inspired by the Holy Spirit, said: The Lord said to my lord, ‘Sit at my right hand until I place your enemies under your feet.’” Mark 12:35–36

Ways to Encourage Sharing School Happenings
How many times have you asked your daughter/son, “What did you do at the school today?” and the answer was “Nothing”. It is the eternal response that drives all parents crazy! To assist in eliciting a response that contains ‘a bit more’ detail, we have included a link below with some possible suggestions
Taking Action
This year National Reconciliation Week focuses on taking action. Reconciliation is more than raising awareness and knowledge. As a nation, and importantly, as people, we need to move from ‘safe’ to ‘brave’ in order to advance reconciliation.
Semester 1 Reports
2021 Half Yearly Reports will be uploaded to the Parent Portal in Week 10 of this Term. As required by the Federal Government, our student progress reports are provided with an ‘A’ to ‘E’ grading from Stage 1-Stage 3. Kindergarten will be 'Working Towards', 'At' or 'Above'. 'Effort' and 'Application' is also shared and is a key component of the reports.
Please take the time to reflect with your child and celebrate all their learning that has happened to date. If you require a meeting with your child’s teacher for follow up as a result of the report please contact the teacher via email in early Term 3 to arrange a time.
Faith & Mission
First Holy Communion
On Thursday, our First Holy Communion candidates joined with the candidates from St Augustine's Primary School in a Retreat Day as they make their final preparations before receiving Jesus in the Eucharist for the first time on Sunday. They explored the scripture 'I am the vine and you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you; you will bear much fruit'. The children recognised the 'fruits' such as love, joy, forgiveness, kindness, gentleness (and so many more) that they can bear in their lives as followers of Jesus. They also explored the word 'communion' and how we are all connected to each other and those who have gone before us through the love of Jesus Christ. The Youth Ministry Officers from St John Paul College supported us in our learning and fellowship by providing testimonials and leading us in some great games. Fr Joy joined us for the final liturgy to bless the special gifts that will be given to the children on Sunday. Please keep these children and their families in your prayers.
2021 Sacrament of Confirmation
The Sacrament of Confirmation will take place next term in early August (Week 5, date to be confirmed). Students who have been Baptised from Years 3 - 6 are eligible for Confirmation. If you HAVE NOT already registered your child for Confirmation this year, please do so via the link below. Please complete a separate Google Form for each child. All parents will be required to attend a parent information session in early Term 3 (date to be advised). If you have any questions regarding Confirmation, please contact Katrina Ryan for more information.

Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
The PBS Team is making a new koala mascot with the old wooden tokens. We will display the mascot outside the Bethany Room when it is completed. We are looking forward to showing-off the students' amazing artwork on the old tokens.
This year we are making new and fun ways for everyone to enjoy PBS.
At Assembly we announce the students who have earned a leaf, to be placed on the Respect Tree, for showing love and respect to all of God's beautiful creations including each other and ourselves. If all students in the school show the same love and respect, that will be amazing!
We also hand out canteen vouchers each Term to the boys and girls who are drawn out of our raffle. To be in the raffle, students must have earned a leaf for the Respect Tree.
Below are photos of our Gold Token winners for this week.
