From the Acting Principal
Welcome Back Warren
The St Francis Xavier School community is looking forward to welcoming Mr Warren Niethe as Acting Principal next week.
Warren knows our community well from his many years working here and comes back to us with a wealth of principal experience and a passion for enabling students to achieve the fullness of life.
I am sure our families will join with the staff and students in welcoming Warren to this new role.
Family Week
Next week will also see Catholic schools across Australia celebrating Family Week to recognise the significant contribution families have made to the foundation, growth and continuity of Catholic schools in Australia. We are grateful for the families that make up our community and continue to support our growth and development. Although COVID prevents us from welcoming our families onsite at the moment, be assured of our gratitude for the important part you play in our community.

Faith & Mission
St Mary of the Cross
The feast of Mary MacKillop, St Mary of the Cross, Australia’s first saint, is this Sunday 8 August. The story of this 19-year-old young woman is one that appeals to all of us. Born to a family in difficult circumstances Mary's faith and resilience saw her travel to Adelaide as a governess. It was in South Australia that she and a number of young women established a school at Penola ... and the rest is history!
Confirmation
Please continue to pray for the students preparing to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation on Thursday next week.
Thank you to all those families who donated to our Hope for the Homeless fundraiser during this National Homelessness Week. We raised $541! Your small change will contribute to big change for those in the community who so desperately need our support.
Positive Behaviour Support
This week’s PBS skills focus was "I can use kind words." Many students were caught spreading kindness this week, here are just a few of their infectious smiles.
Some students were even spotted spreading kind words around the school buildings!
