2021 Term 3 Week 10 Newsletter
Prayer Focus
From the Principal
It is hard to believe that three quarters of the year has already passed. Believe it or not, the next big thing on the horizon will be preparations for Christmas. Despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, Term 3 has been full of many wonderful learning experiences for all of our students. Some of these have been recorded in previous newsletters and captured on Facebook. If you have a free moment please take the opportunity to revisit these events.
I am always in awe of the extra effort and lengths the staff and wider school community make to ensure every student reaches their fullest potential as a learner. If you have contributed to the school in some way this Term, be it from afar, please accept my sincerest appreciation and gratitude.
At St Francis Xavier I have observed an intentional school improvement mindset amongst the staff. Our school is continually looking for ways to better serve our students and their families. With this in mind, I would strongly encourage all families to complete a Blended Learning Feedback Google Form so that as a school we can move from “good” to “great”!
Finally, I would like to wish everyone a safe and enjoyable Spring vacation.
Yours in Faith,
Warren Niethe

Week 10 Celebration
This week we have created, laughed, explored, played and had a tonne of fun. It has been wonderful to see the gratefulness around the opportunity to reconnect. Valuing what we have and ‘Serving Every Learner’ has certainly been highlighted.
Now it’s time for a holiday, let’s celebrate! Stay safe and well everyone, we look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday, 5th October for the start of Term 4.
Faith & Mission
Stage 1 Mass
It was so lovely to welcome Fr Joy back at school to celebrate Mass with us this week. Stage 1 attended to celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows. In his homily, Fr Joy spoke to the children about how much Mary loved Jesus and Jesus loved her. He spoke of the special kind of love between parents and children - unconditional and sacred.
Wellbeing Day - Innovators, Creators & Connectors
What a wonderful way to finish off the term. Take a look at some of the amazing designs and creations our little connectors came up with. See Facebook for more photos from our Wellbeing Day.
Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
A big congratulations to all students for having such a successful transition back to school, just in time to wind down for holidays!
Year Group of the Term Rewards Day
Special praise for our ever-respectful Year 1 students who took out the prize for the most tokens earned in Term 3! Our PBS Student Leadership Team enthusiastically led Year 1 in an afternoon of games and amusement.
Well done to all students who earned tokens this Term.
Gold Token winners
Well done to all our Gold Token winners for this week!
Sporting Roundup
Due to the Stay at Home Order, the NetSetGo program for Term 3 was unable to be completed. We have instead used the remaining funding from Sporting Schools to purchase a teacher-led NetSetGo program the teachers can use during PDHPE lessons to help students develop netball skills. We have also purchased new netball equipment to be used for these PDHPE lessons. Thank you to Stage 1 for helping to get this equipment ready for classroom use.
Please note: Information regarding Stage 2 and 3 elective sport will come home early next Term.
